Helllooooo lovely!
Over the weekend I went to a masquerade party and while having all the fun at it, two things caught might attention about wearing those fancy masks:
🎭1. I couldn’t recognize the people {well, duh!}
🎭2. I got distracted looking at the sparkliness of the masks and not looking at the person wearing it
This was an intentional masquerade party, of course! Those were exactly the purpose and fun of it – to hide your face partially, dress up and be distractively sparkly.
Now stay here with me for a moment as we trace a parallel of this masquerade party in real life:
👉🏼 How many times do we “dress up” with our sparkly face covers, that shows half of us {or barely even that} and then we go through life, expecting to be seen and understood for who we are?
👉🏼 And then we go looking for the ones that are similar to us who are also, in their turn showing half of their faces to the world and giving a very sparky disguise so we get distracted by it and don’t pay attention to the real human underneath that?
It is scary AF to walk through life letting yourself be seeing fully but it must be done.
The deep connection we crave can’t come if we are not fully seeing.
The ones who are meant for us won’t find us.
