How to multiply yout blog posts

Ok, so I have a ‘lil trick up my sleeve for you today.

Ya know that moment when you are in front of your blog blank page and you are scratching your head thinking “what am I going to write about today?”

And the week before you poured all your heart out in a gazillion-words-long-blog post?

There is no juice left this week, huh?

Well…. I have a little tip for you to make that draining of brain power disappear AND to multiply your blog post ideas for weeks to come.

Ready?

Do this exercise.

  • In a piece of paper {yes! Your eyes need a break from the screen} think about a question that you get asked a lot preferably by people that read your blog.

Thought about a question?

Great!

Now, write everything you can think of about the answer to that FAQ.

Even {and specially} if you start thinking about all the concepts your peeps need to understand BEFORE getting to real meat of the issue.

The more the better.

If they need A to understand B and then C to get to D and f.i.n.a.l.l.y. get to E {which they were eager to know} write it all down.

It will look overcrowded and complex, huh?

Now, remember that wherever concept you are teaching your readers it is probably brand new to them {that’s why they are asking!} so all that jumping from point A to B to C to D will really be too much!

The solution?

{Can you see it already? 😀 Can you see your blog topic head-scratching concerned disappearing?}

BREAK THEM DOWN INTO DIFFERENT POSTS!

That’s right!

Use every little step of the way to make a different blog post.
A total win-win situation!

Your peeps get all the wisdom from you they were hoping for + some and you have posts after posts lined up!

That blog post from last week that you poured all your heart and sweat? Could had become a series of posts for weeks to come!

Perfection, isn’t it?

I know, life became way easier when I figured that one out. 😀

Now my love, if you found that ‘lil tip useful  you won’t believe all the good stuff coming up soon!

I am getting ready to run a second round of The Bloggers Round Table which will be available only to the subscribers list!

Soooooo get in there my love so you get first dibs on it. 😉

Talk to you again soon.

What about if you don’t have many readers so no one asked a question? My blog is still small so I rarely get a question and when I do, it’s usually one that is really easy to answer.
Also I’d love to know more about how to break down that long post into a small series. I have several long posts I have been thinking about writing but I’m not sure how to break them down so they make sense to the reader.
Sorry for all questions but just more post for you right? hehe.

      Hi Cody!
Definitely when we are starting out it is trickier. What helps thou is to define WHO you want reading your blog and then put yourself in her shoes, define her struggles and answer those Qs in posts format.
About breaking it down, just take note of your writing process. Do you start adding some tag stories to “clarify” your point better? Do you feel the need to explain too much to get to the end of the story? If so, those tag stories and explanations can all become different posts. If you stay focused on one point only and don’t feel your mind going all over the place, you are good to go. 🙂
