Aaaaand the search for the PERFECT Filofax continues!
When I wrapped up writing this post I had a plan and a specific Filofax in mind as my next experiment. I even envisioned how that post would look like!
Huge mistake. I had no idea. #Naiveness 😁
Lemme be blunt thou and put it out there: Personal Chameleon in Red.
THAT was the plan for my next personal-life planner support!
Then I spotted a video of a unique Filofax out there. The video is not up anymore so you I can’t send you links to it but here is a pic of the gorgeousness I found online:
I was in awe! I had never seen a Filofax like that!
Could barely stop drooling on the screen! 😍
The thing is thou…… such a gorgeousness distracted me from the main point.
I had a plan, I was supposed to stick with it….
And I didn’t 😁
Let me rewind a bit to state the obvious.
As you might have guessed by now *ahem* that juicy binder pictured above is here with me. 💓
When I saw it, it was love at first sight {from across the screen} so I quickly changed my original plans…. I convinced myself that if I was going to get a bigger planner size other than a pocket Filofax to organize my personal life, THIS SO DARN UNIQUE Personal size had to be it! ✨✨✨✨
One detail thou….. I don’t think I mentioned.
That planner, at that moment of our instant-love, was living across the pond……. in the UK 🇬🇧
Yup…. we were oceans apart!
Still everything was arranged for the cross-world relocation, however…..
while this gorgeousness was flying from UK to USA something happened….
My WORK Filofax arrived.
Yup, yup, I have been talking on my posts about personal organization binders only but I’ve been secretly plotting to find the perfect “sorting-my-work-life” Filofax as well.
Of course, right? All about that personal/work balance 😁
💞And so the gorgeous A5 Acqua Chameleon was ordered previously and had now arrived.💞
What’s a girl to do with a brand new binder in hand? 🤩
Put it to good use, of course!
So off to work we both went!
Then, while nibbling around, playing with it and smiling {a lot} at it at work, I realized that most of my note-taking for personal things happens… AT WORK. 😳
As in….. I’d need to have brought yet another binder with me for personal life note-taking.
Hmmmmm, yea, no….. that wasn’t happening. My new personal one was still making its way across the pond….. So sneakingly and without truly noticing I started taking notes here and there and in a blink of an eye I was full-on using the said “work-binder” for both :: personal things and work related stuff.
did.not.see.that.coming! 🤯
May I just give a minute to acknowledge the guilt already building up for so many binders AND the crossing of purposes on each?
I need to categorize everything, even if just in my head, and my planners own flow and natural development of purposes was messing up with my binder-categories 😄
But….. not that I’d let their string personalities ruin the fun in any way! In the contrary – the possibilities and flexibility truly became obvious!
Sooooo let’s take a peek at how nice and neat this one turned out to be:
The Set-Up:
I put two sets of tabs. The top set for personal and the bottom set for work.
And all straight forward as can be:
- Notes :: self-explanatory. Anything random that I can’t forget goes there. Later on I sort out those notes and put them on the right category.
- Health :: doc app, food log, exercise log, WW points track, etc.
- “Funzies” :: that means hobbies, thoughts, ideas, and the like. Even more random than “notes” but as the made-up name implies, notes that are fun, thoughts that make me happy, and broken down tasks on how to accomplish my nourishing goals.
- Classes :: class notes, schedule, timeline, degree plan, etc.
- Shopping :: all the lists separated by stores that I go more frequently.
- House :: barely a cleaning schedule (’cause who likes cleaning and thinking about it? 😑), a timeline for home repairs and projects and broken down steps and tasks for moving out.
The other tabs are work related so we will skip that {privacy and stuff}.
I was ok using that Filofax for personal planning combined with work for a long time but I quickly realized that although I LOVE how much room I have to write, my weekends couldn’t handle it. It was way too heavy to carry around. Just to have coffee with friends it was too much weight for me on a Saturday.
{No, I do not leave the house without my planner. Not even on a Saturday 😈}
But most importantly and the real breaking point:
I really need to have visual fun with my Filofaxes.
Well, the one for personal stuff at least.
Of course all the organizing possibilities of a Filofax are crucial and the main point of it but I need fun colors, fun stickers and fun tabs.
Because it was a work organizer I was restraining myself from all that.
I didn’t want to open that gorgeous and classy Acqua Chameleon during a meeting and have all the fun stickers, tabs and Bic-color-fashion-coding popping out. Specially in an environment where NO ONE uses a paper planner. I am the only one. 🙄
So, yeah, toning down the ‘fun’ and focusing on ‘functionality’ really helps me at work, but oh gosh! on my weekends? I really want to feel happy when I open my Filofax, I don’t need to feel so professional.
Soooo the search continues!!!! Filofax Swap 3 has been slowly tested and developed! 🤩
Will it be the absurdly sexy Snake Domino from overseas?
Will it be the very first idea of a Red Chameleon?
Hang on tight! Updates are coming! ✨🎉
And to end this post let’s do it with a loving family pic. 💞 Here they are all cuddly:
And the most alert guardian of all, fearlessly protecting my treasure with his life:
✨✨Keep tuned to Filofax Swap 3 – The Chamomile Attempt! ✨✨
Many Smooches,
OMG your cat is sooooooo cute! But as cute as your Filofaxes? Mmmmm . . . not so sure about that! Nice one x
isn’t he? I can’t stop taking pics of him! With a Filofax on the background, even better! hehe
Adorable cat!!!
Great post! Looking forward to what’s next in Filofaxland for you! xx
Thanks! I am pretty sure you already know which one is next 😉
Like Lucy said, that is One.Cute.Cat! What breed is it? Love the aqua Chameleon too (:
I don’t really know his breed. We got him from a shelter. We picked the fluffier one on that room 😀
look at those kitty cheeks! I just want to pinch them. 😉 Great post!
I know!!! Me too! He already learned how to recognize my “you-come-here-you-squezzable-thing” look and hide quickly! hehe
Can’t wait…. Chameleon Red is just so sexy as a binder, all 30’s glamour and decadence! And it takes decoration well…. but which set up will you do? Oh the anticip
hehehe I love a little mystery! 😀
ation.
Glad to hear you’re still loving the Snake! And I agree, what gorgeous kitty cheeks 🙂
oh, I love it Anita! I am being good to it, no worries 😉
Your posts always make me smile! Keep up the positive attitude!
HA! Thank you so much Pam. Smiles are what I am here for. 😉
You kitty looks just like mine!!! I love the snake filofaxes but I have trouble with ring bound planners. The rings always become too loose for me or have gaps or are crooked. I just can’t make the jump from my arc to a ring bound. Is there any particular reason you’re so in love with the rings? Maybe there is something I’m over looking! Thanks!
Love the post. I use my A5 for both personal & work too. What tabs do you use for work? I love having everything in one place.
I love all of your Filofaxes!!! Oh, the sizes! When I use a personal size I have too much to write, and when I move to an A5 I have lots of days with nothing to write. But I love them all, and fortunately I am in a profession (teaching preschoolers) where no one looks twice at stickers, colored pens, and drawings! Or beautiful Limetreefruits pages 😉
