Helllooooo my favorite! Happy Sunday!
Weekends are THE days to feel good about life, isn’t it? βοΈ
AndΒ specially because of that, {with this flowy, easy mindset} thereΒ is no better time than now to prepare for those days when we are feeling completely off.
ππΌ You know… the days when things start rolling down weird and we just wish to start over? Like go to bed and start the day again?
Ya, those kind of days…
We can prepare for those kind of days right now because:
ππΏWe *can* stop the down hill movement from going any further, if we choose to.
And the best part we don’t even need to go to bed and reset!
{Although we can’t get mad at a refreshing-start-over little nap in the middle of the day, can we? π}
But nap time available or not we must stop the down stream movement the moment we notice it rolling — and flip the boat back up.
ππΌ But the question remains: How exactly do we do that?
{and what does it have to do with a good weekend day?!}
Welp, just like the “bad” momentum was built over time {even if we didn’t notice when it started}, we do the same way to build the “good” momentum — one step at a time.
π What are the things that you do – even if small – that shift your energy?
Dance? Put make up on? Play with pen and paper? Sit in the sun? Pet your pet? Walk aimlessly exploring new streets? Every tiny or big thing counts!
But the tricky thing is that regardless of what action helps us stop the down hill motion, when we are in that crazy unhelpful momentum it is reallyΒ hard to remember what makes us happy. π€¨ Because e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g around us is annoying us, adding up to the fuel, bringing us down more and more and totally NOT making us happy.
Then in the midst of it all coming up with solutions and alternatives out of the blue to flip the script?Β Yeah right… not happening π
ππΌ What do we do then?
π We make it a no brainer for our spiraling-down selves to remember the things that bring us back to center.
π Keeping a handy list of things unique to us that lift ourselves up READY to go, can be really really helpful! A list that you can access at any given time and just read through it to see which one of the actions are doable and easiest to go for at that moment.
βοΈAnd that is when the weekend mode comes in:
What better time to do that list when we are precisely feeling good, excited, rested, in the flow and with our cups filled?
That is *the* time we can support ourselves on those weird days.
Do that now, love. Your future self {like this week-future-self!} will be oh, so thankful that you took the time to care for her beforehand like that!
π Open a note on your phone and call it “My Feel Good Tool Box” for instance. And type in all the ways you know, small and big, to lift yourself up. Keep it handy and even pin it to the top if you need to — the goal is to have that as your go to unique and personal resource to shift mood/thoughts/energy.
Now for my dear paper + planner lovers, I did create a cutesy printable just for that purpose — to keep that handy list in planners, pinned to the board or anywhere you need to look at.
β¨ There is a full post about my own list of things to shift perspective, my thought process on it,Β AND the link to download the printable right there!

Wishing you all the quick shifts and goodness in a beautiful new week ahead!
